Changes to Committee / Vacant Positions / Social Media Assistants – 20 March 2023
Dear Waratah members (including Add-On Members),
The Waratahs Club has a successful volunteer program. There is no way we could run the Club without people giving up their free time. Kudos to all the people who make a contribution including Commissaires, Duty Managers, Duty Officers, Van Drivers and the Committee.
There are some changes and opportunities to be more involved with the Club.
If you are interested, then please get in contact with me or one of the Committee members. You can drop us an email at waratahmasters@gmail.com or see us at Sunday racing.
Committee
Chris McGuigan has retired from the Committee after many years of loyal service.
I would like to thank Chris for all the great advice since my time on the Committee and taking on the role of Handicapper and President in recent years.
Brett McMurtrie is taking on the role of Handicapper with immediate effect in addition to his role as the Committee member for Virtual Racing.
Jackie Bezuidenhout will be taking over the management of our clothing as well as leading our social media.
There are 9 positions on the Committee. Most of the Committee members are happy to nominate again at the next Annual General Meeting. If they are re-elected then, with the retirement of Chris McGuigan and at least one other who is not re-nominating, it means we will have 2 positions available to be elected at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
If you are interested in joining the Committee, please get in contact with me to have a discussion.

Social Media Team Members
We are looking for some people to assist our Social Media Manager, Jackie Bezuidenhout, to build media content for the Club.
You can do as little or as much as you like. We are looking for people who have different types of interest in the sport. For example, track racing might be your passion or regional racing events. You might like posting stories about training rides or post-ride rehydration strategies.
Want to learn about building content – we can support you with Canva Professional, Meta Business Suite and WordPress. If you want to keep it simple and send Jackie B. great pictures and stories – you can do that as well.
Regards
Paul King – President WMCC
