Waratah and Lidcombe-Auburn Combined Track Championships

Congratulations to Andy Palmer our 2021 Waratah Club Track Champion.

Andy won both the Omnium against the combined clubs and the WMCC Wheel Race. The omnium was a tight battle with Andy winning by 1 point from Julian Yuen of LACC. While good handicapping saw the Wheel Race only decided in the final straight.

Solid performances from Waratahs Grant Quinn, Ian Thomas and Mark Scribbens made for close competition right to the final race.  But it was Nigel Apps from LACC who dominated the racing in the over 50’s, winning 3 of his 5 events.

NSW MMAS9 CYCLIST OF THE YEAR 2020

The awards for the Masters categories of the 2020 NSW Cyclist of the Year were presented at the recent NSW Masters Track Championships.  Harry Rourke was very surprised and honoured to receive the award for MMAS9 category, while representing the Waratahs.  The award is determined by accruing points for results in state, national and world championships in road and track events.
